Revive Wellness
6 Eu Tong Sen Street, Central
#03-48
I've been procrastinating to do brazilian waxing.. Until I saw this super good deal at groupon.sg, 2 sessions for $38 with Revive Wellness.. I googled for the reviews and most of it were positive so I made up my mind and purchase it..
As the time is drewing near, I got really nervous.. I feel like that's the dumbest choice I've ever made in my life! Haha.. Cos I'm someone who is really really scared of pain!! :( So I thought I'm like gonna DIEEEEEE.. Read up reviews about people who went through brazilian waxing for the first time.. It sounds so scaryyyyyyy!!
However, my experience with Revive Wellness is a pleasant one! They are not pushy at all.. And the therapist was like so patient with me.. Cos I keep asking her if it's gonna be pain and all.. She was honest and tell me yes it's gonna hurt for the first time.. But subsequently will be better.. I ask if there's anyone who did halfway and give up.. Hahahahaha.. She said nope.. Never ever has anyone did that! Haha.. Makes me feel better.. It means it's not as scary as I thought, I hope..
Was lead to a room, asked to change into a kimono.. Changing into a nice attire makes one feel better too.. Lol!! Then was asked to wash myself down there.. Den the session starts! I've read that if you purchase their usual price, it comes with mask and there will be a "cold hammer" to close your pores and make you feel less pain.. Since groupon is big big discount deal.. There's no mask or "cold hammer".. The therapist just put the wax and tear it off.. Haha.. The whole session takes about 15-20mins? She's pretty fast and swift with her actions so the pain is bearable.. It's really not as painful as I thought.. It's really like putting a masking tape on your legs and tear it off.. Hahaha.. Pain level 3/10 for those less sensitive areas.. 5/10 for those sensitive areas.. My therapist is Suzanne.. They say is because they are using hard wax unlike other salons who are using soft wax.. Hard wax is less painful? Not sure how true since it's my first time.. But I am so pleased with their service I thought if the package is good, I wanna sign up with them!! However, there was no selling at all from her part.. So I guess will wait for the 2nd session then decide..
I'm definitely glad that I make this decision and go ahead with it!! And I wanna thank my friends - yvette and zach for being there for me while I wait for the time to come!! They were sooooooo annoyed with me!! But I had a good laugh!!

Kombi Rocks
17 June 2014
Kombi Rocks
66 Yio Chu Kang Road
Singapore 545568
The size is like a small coffeeshop but the whole place is designed in retro/vintage theme.. And of cos as per the cafe name, kombi is the main character.. They even allows you to drive one of the kombi at $40 per drive if I didnt remember wrongly.. Lucky for me, I went on a tuesday and they have a live "band" on that day.. not exactly "band" cos only one person singing lar.. haha.. all the songs are in the 80's or 90's.. super love.. It's a waste I did not take photos of the cafe interior..
As for the food.. Joanna don't really like the food here.. She say sucks.. Haha.. She commented it's quite salty.. For me, I think it's ok.. Just the normal tze char fare u had at your house downstairs just that it's alittle more expensive.. And of course, you pay for the ambience mah.. My favourite goes to the ngoh hiang though..
I feel this is a place to come on the day they have live singing session.. For the nostalgia experience! :)

NOM Bistro & Bakery
Level 1 Macpherson Community Club,

I came to know about this cafe through shirley's facebook.. She post this pretty rainbow cake! And then few weeks later, another friend wanxia post the rainbow cake again! Being a sucker for rainbow cakes, I tell my hubby I MUST TRY! So we went to try it on that day..
The place gives a very CLEAN feeling.. Maybe cos it's very white lar.. Simple interior design.. Nothing fancy but I wanna give credits to the service.. They are very friendly and attentive..
So I tried the Salted Caramel Rainbow Cake, Cranberry Cheesecake and my all time favourite Truffle Fries. Sadly, they are all disappointment.. To be fair, it's very difficult to find nice rainbow cakes due to the colouring added.. The rainbow cake just taste very artificial.. But I do like the buttercream though.. As for the cranberry cheesecake.. I don't know issit cos it's cranberry.. I don't like the sourish taste or what.. But the cheesecake texture is definitely a big NONO.. It doesn't gives you the melt in the mouth feel.. On par with McCafe cheesecakes? As for the truffle fries.. I would say value for money.. Only the top part can taste the truffle oil so it did not really curb my cravings for truffle.. but they are using real potatoes.. Which most of the cafes don't do that..
Despite my bad experience with the cakes.. I will wanna come back for their mains! Seems like alot of ppl are there for their FOOD instead of desserts.. And the prices are pretty affordable.. Will definitely be back for their mains due to their pricing, the clean environment feel and their service! haha..

Easy Chocolate Cake Recipe & LE Beancurd Tart!
i failed thrice baking a chocolate cake.. except the ready mixed ones.. so if i can make it for this recipe.. you can too!! it tasted not bad.. i believe it will taste even better if u use the better brands chocolate powder.. i use those cheapo ones.. that is being used for bubble tea.. lols..
for the receipe - Devil's Chocolate Cake
the receipe comes with ganache but i didnt make it.. i dont even have the confidence to make the cake edible.. so y bother with the ganache? that's my initial thought la.. lols!! my kids, maid & dear say it's nice!! first time dear is able to finish one slice of my cake!! LOL!! he don't really fancy cake one.. i LOVE cakes but i don't eat the cake that i bake normally.. i just don't know why.. my colleagues say the texture taste like brownie though.. if u r like me nearly giving up baking a cake, try this!!
this LE CAFE beancurd tart has been on my mind recently.. never ate before.. just heard abt it long long time ago.. their pineapple tarts are the best ive eaten man!! ask dear buy for me since he's around that vicinity.. he say don't want very far! but he still got it for me in the end! THANKS!
LE CAFE beancurd tart the crust is lighter.. it's not thick doesnt makes u feel very bloated after eating.. same goes to the filling.. very light.. but the filling simply melts in your mouth.. if u loves egg tarts, u will like this.. but if u prefer eggs than beancurd than u probably wont because IT IS A BEANCURD TART!! lol..

my current fav egg tart is from SLII muffins @ beach road market (ie army market)! their tart is thicker than LE CAFE.. not as smooth as LE CAFE for their filling.. but at the price of 4 for $3.50 it's super yummy!! and furthermore, this is EGG!! beancurd is smooth by nature mah.. compare to the egg tarts in the market, it is very smooth already.. also melts in your mouth.. very good!! should go try if u havent!! TONG HENG one lose them!! BOO!!
been having good & yummy food lately.. it's time to put a stop.. really eat until broke!! =(
