back on Monday nite from BKK with E405 peeps! though i didnt really enjoy myself.. but ive gain lotsa experience from this trip.. even though it's not my first time to Bangkok but this time, it's really different.. learn so much this time round!!
Day 1 (14/11/08)
the day has finally arrived! i believe we were all anticipating for it! hehe.. it's my first time travelling w my frens.. ive always wanted to!! but dear doesnt allow.. this time, after much persuasion, he gave in.. hehe..
woke up at 7am to get prepared.. jessie's father came to fetch us girls all to the airport.. guanlun & darren MRT-ed to airport.. breakfast at Terminal 1 burger king.. HAHA!
checked-in.. shop ard for a little while and we're ready to board the plane~!!
we travel by AirAsia.. no entertainment.. seat is small & free seating.. but den again, it's budget airline mahs.. so nothing to kp.. i will only travel by budget airline if we're going thailand.. cos it's cheap!! hehe.. i support budget airline!! haha..

touched down at BKK airport.. we took maps and take cab, split into 2 groups..
Group A - me, guanlun and shuhui
Group B - darren, edwina and jessie
every cab put meter-taxi at the top of their cab.. before we board the cab, we all requested for meter.. our cab uncle is nice.. he let us travel by meter.. and for the toll, he charge us the exact price.. when we reach Pratunam, Group B cab was infront of us so we follow them the wrong direction.. but he u-turn and let us down at the correct hotel.. but Group B not so lucky.. once they got up the cab, although they alr told e uncle beforehand at the airport that they wanna go by meter, but once they're on the highway, the uncle told them 550baht one trip ok.. they lan lan bo bian.. we reach there less than 400baht..-,-
nana booked Baiyoke Boutique Hotel for our stay.. the lobby were tastefully designed.. but the rooms are alittle disappointed.. i guess bcos our level were still under reno, our room smell of paint.. our conversation can also be heard frm the nxt door.. our room reservation was booked frm baiyoke website itself thus it's a little more exp.. for cheaper hotel rates, can go to www.asiarooms.com i always go there for room reservation.. they've very good deals for hotel!!
we dropped our stuffs and started our shopping trip!! walk Pratunam.. to go to Platinum Mall.. grab some snacks before starting our shopping.. ate some donuts, crepes and those food which we usually use to BBQ.. their crepes damn nice lor.. and those BBQ food.. it only cost 10-15baht 一串!! donuts too sweet.. there're lotsa stuffs to get there..
i bought all my bottoms there!! if my memory nv fails me, i bought 5 bottoms for only 1300baht, 3 belts @ 150baht each and a top for 150baht..
we had too little time to shop.. cos shops were closing at 7-8.. left for Panthip Plaza which is just beside..
nothing to get really.. and surprisingly, their gadgets are much more exp there!! bcos i rem dear bought lotsa games frm there and he was saying how dirt cheap it was.. hmmmmm.. maybe it's only their software that's cheap??
flag a cab to go chinatown.. the uncle told us all 6 to get in.. 2 sit infront e rest sit behind.. we were like what the?? we think for quite sometime den decided to just get it.. we told him we wanna go chinatown.. he told us these 3 days is the funeral procession of the King's big sister, Princess Galyani Vadhana some roads were closed.. chinatown is one of them.. and ALL the shops were closed as well once reached 7pm.. we were like goddamnit.. choose e wrong time to come!! den they ask for his recommendation.. he ask us wad we wanna do.. we said we just wanna find a place to eat.. he recommend SOMBOON.. i immediately say NO! bcos there're 2 SOMBOOM which ive done my research in the internet.. one of which is the FAKE one.. den he keep persuading us to go.. say he chinese wun cheat us blahblahblah.. must trust him etc.. we reach there.. and i felt kinda strange bcos there were no locals around.. all angmohs.. if the place is so yummy.. why no locals?? so i walk out lar.. i think they were pretty mad at mi.. cos they went there for seafood.. but ended up not having any.. *sighs* i just dun wan us to tio TOK ya.. cos we din bring out our itinerary.. so dunno which is real and which is not.. we walk around and found this shopping centre.. ask ard for directions and check if chinatown is really closed.. there's this couple in their late thirties.. they tell us it's not true at all.. they even offered to help us flag a cab!! but no cabbies wanna go there cos traffic is terrible there.. they're soooooo nice!! so we ended up asking for directions to go MBK.. we WALK there!! the distance is damn far.. it's like twice the distance from Pratunam to MBK den MBK to Pratunam.. pengs!! the best part is, we were all starving.. LOL!!
all of us were goddamn happy to see MBK la.. edwina's recommend to go Black Canyon for our dinner.. the food seriously sucks to the max.. but i oh so love their drinks!!
went supermarket to get some distilled water.. den there's a Beverly Hills Polo sale at their atrium.. all of us grabbed a few bags!! only at 199baht.. hehe!!
cabbed back.. again, our grp was safe and sound.. Group B tio TOK again.. go up the cab den tell them 100baht.. when we only paid like 30-50baht?? haha!!
we ended our nite with a short debrief.. haha!!
cos it was kinda messy the first day.. so we talk abt our itinerary for tml.. ended the nite at like 1 or 2am.. i had a hard time slping lor.. i woke up at 4am and couldnt fall back to sleep..*arghs*

Day 2 (15/11/08)
finally couldnt take it anymore and went to wash up at like 5am or so.. cos we agreed to meet at 5.30am to go for Pratunam morning market.. went down, some of the shops already open.. the stuffs are selling really cheap!! and stupid me, i came across this stall selling very niceyyyy t-shirts.. alr @ 50baht but i die die wanna bargain.. LOL!! i think back also quite stupid.. den since they dun wanna go down the price i walk away.. end up nv buy..=x but their t-shirts really pretty~ den saw this stall w bottoms of my size.. haha!! bought 3 of them.. only 150baht!! cheaper den those i got frm Pratunam!! bought 2 jumper for michelle @ 100baht, 1 abercrombie cardigan for only 50baht..=x
den went to have our breakfast~ after breakfast they wanna clear their stomach first.. so i took this chance to take pics while nana take a quick nap.. hehe!
ard 9am, we gather and head to Chatuchak!! group B kenna TOK for cab again.. cant rem how much this time.. LOL!!

this time round, we dropped off at the wrong place.. instead of the clothes section, we dropped off at the handicraft section i think.. so only at the end when we wanna go home den saw lotsa nice nice pretty clothes..=(
but stuffs selling at CTC is not cheap.. can be twice the price of Platinum or Pratunam..
but nana, guanlun & shuhui got themselves a good deal for Deuter bag.. nana&shuhui got the 45L while guanlun get the 50L.. according to them, SG is selling damn ex.. but they only got it at 900baht and 1300baht!! so to them it's damn worth.. i manage to get a few stuffs for jabez..
den darren&gl bought some pork strips.. DAMN NICE!!
surprisingly, we didnt shop long for CTC.. and head for BIG C!!

there's NOTHING to shop at BIG C!! i was prepared to grab lotsa BRAS~ but they dun haf much designs and the cutting doesnt suits me at all.. i thought they have lotsa local delicacy too.. but end up only ONE STALL.. but there's a big arcade there suitable for toddlers!!

see from outside, it looks like LV boutique!! haha!! but i see the price frm outside.. cheap!cheap! only 220baht for a medium size bag!! so i cfm chiong in lar~ it's so crowded w ppl.. i spend most of my $$ there.. haha.. got 19 items.. including colleagues, frens and relatives gifts.. i was soooo happy lar~ cos ive been waiting for checkout NARAYA for a long time!! =x den we walk to Siam.. den to MBK..

we settle our dinner at this Japanese steamboat restaurant.. fyi, we waited for like 1hr plus to go in..=,= so by then we started, we're all really STARVING!! the waitress was so bewildered that in a few mins, she alr clear like 10-20plates.. LOL!! it's a buffet steamboat restaurant.. with some sushi and free flow of tempura, drinks & ice-cream.. also beef, pork, chicken etcetc for steamboat.. quite wu hua consider the fact that we only pay SGD$13?? so it's damn cheap!! but dun expect super nice food lar.. anw, im so hungry.. i couldnt care abt the taste of the food lar.. LOL!!
after dinner, take cab back to hotel again..
we took this super chio PINK cab.. inside all PINK too.. forgot to take e PINK car.. alamak..
put our stuffs and went for Pratunam again.. it's just below our hotel mahs.. hehe.. darren stay @ the hotel lobby to watch soccer, shuhui stay in the room to slp.. haha! me, jessie, nana & super nice gl escort us.. hehe.. shop ard.. bought 5 "jersey".. 3 for dear and 2 for ahhui.. 190baht each..

Day 3
this time, i sleep till so shiok!! guess i was really tooooo tired liaos.. LOL!! was suppose to go Chinatown.. but end up we decided not to go since there's nothing for them to go Chinatown.. and they're kinda worried that it might not be safe there cos it's quite near the Grand Palace.. although i DAMN wanna go.. cos i wanna go SAMPENG for my HELLO KITTY loots!! =( and always go there but nv able to visit Chinatown..=( anw, we end up combing Pratunam & Platinum Mall AGAIN!! haha.. this time round, we got more loots.. Pratunam has lotsa nice office wear and price are ard 150baht for 3pcs and above..
found a stall selling men's pants only @ 180baht!!
although not alot of designs but not bad looking.. grab 3pcs for dear.. also got jabez 3 levi's inspired jeans.. uber cute!! 169baht per pc..
Platinum Mall, we started from the highest floor.. highest floor so many bags, accessories and shoes!!
there's only one bag that im seriously so goddamn in love with.. but it's a little exp i feel.. 750baht.. but really very very pretty..=( nv buy in the end.. i din bought alot of stuffs for myself this time round.. only 2 tops.. i was looking ard hoping to get dear some pants and some polo tees.. also for ahboy.. so was kinda distracted.. and shyanne too! cos still havent buy anything for shyanne..*sighs* walk until most of the shops close liao.. while walking back to hotel, there's this stall selling those Miss xxxx t-shirts!! the cheapest that we've found is 100baht.. but she's able to give us @ 80baht.. so we just grab lar.. lols.. went back hotel put our stuffs.. take the shuttle bus @ Baiyoke Sky to Siam Discovery.. den we realise all along, all the taxi drivers have been going one big round to send us back to Baiyoke Boutique.. DUHS!!
dinner @ Chester's.. some kind of fastfood.. food were CHEAP! and taste not bad.. i love the chicken burger which i ordered!! it's with honey mustard~~ and the shrimp wanton soup.. taste like the 鲜虾云吞 always shown on advertisement one.. LOL!!
went to get local delicacy.. btw, do remember to take note.. buy the logo with PIG instead of DRAGON.. pig one is nicer~ den group A went hotel first.. cos group B go and buy cake for our dear shuhui.. it's her bdae tml~ hehe.. she's finally 21st!!
jessie ask her to go and try out her clothes.. den we take the chance to go in.. but she so shy ar.. upon seeing us faster go back into the toilet and change back!! =( still, hope she enjoy herself this trip!!
alright, e cheapo us only get her one slice of choco cake.. cos we're all out of budget liaos..=x the rest of e donuts are bought in e morning, unfinished.. use them to decorate nia.. haha!
Day 4
HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY TO SHUHUI!
we didnt wake up so early this time round.. hehe.. ate the same breakfast for the 4 days.. lols.. den they wanna slack at the cafe before shopping.. i propose to go shopping myself since i solely wanna shop for shyanne's clothes..
cos i still left her clothes havent buy.. i also dun wanna waste their time ya.. so i suggest to go by myself.. shuhui volunteer to go w me too.. so we both walk ard Pratunam.. den to Platinum.. got the same Deuter bag which they bought tat day.. cos i see how gl stuff all nana's 战利品 & stuffs which she brought to BKK into a single bag.. im really stun lor.. she came with a luggage FULL of stuffs.. her luggage was quite FULL when she came.. but he manage to put everything inside e DEUTER bag and it's still HALF filled.. and her luggage is EMPTY!! so i get the bag den nxt time can bring a luggage and the bag.. no nid to worry abt overload.. LOL!! walk back hotel and prepare to go home!!
when we finish buying our liquor, walk down wanna exit tat time.. nana say, "eh u saw someone familiar??" den i saw jabez waving at me!! im sooooo SURPRISED!! dear brought shyanne & jabez (with lili) to come and fetch me!! *touched* was so happy to see them~ =) dinner @ POPEYE den HOME SWEET HOME!!
this whole trip, i experience alot.. like how ppl in Thailand respect the royal family.. the funeral procession is damn grand.. bcos of this ceremony, most of the Thais wear white and black.. and there're sooooo many ppl queueing outside.. to pay last respect for the Princess.. the ceremony lasted for 3 WHOLE DAYS!! day and night.. it was broadcast in the TV for the 3 whole days.. i wonder how those who participate in the ceremony tahan.. those soldiers standing there.. must be damn tired.. den i am surprise that when the national anthem is played.. all was standing at where they were.. not moving.. u see singapore national anthem play tat time gt ppl SEDIYAH anot la.. i think it only happen when in school lor!! =x
BKK is quite different nowadays.. dun bother to bargain.. bcos their favourite quote is WHOLESALE PRICE!! haha.. no nid to bargain.. bcos we can spend 15mins to bargain but end up with a 50baht discount nia!! *pengs!! as long as u buy 3pcs and above, it's WHOLESALE PRICE!! -,- i went back and told my mum.. she say it's lidat.. even ppl in Thailand themselves pay this kinda price.. so we're not tio TOK!! no, not worry tio TOK when we buy things.. but we more worried abt TAXI!! always tio TOK!! nbz!! just take meter wherever u go.. bcos the meter jump damn slow.... actually a trip from MBK to Baiyoke only takes abt 30baht?? the last day we wanna go AIRPORT, we were worried kenna TOK by cabbies again.. plus this time round, we've more luggage.. so worried that canot put at the boot.. the bellboy recommend us to take minibus.. 1000baht.. it's VERY WUHUA!! if u travel in groups.. really good.. if based on the amt tat we travel frm airport to our hotel on the first day, it alr cost 950baht or so.. plus it's sooooo squeezy!! the minibus tat we took damn comfortable.. each of us can take one seat.. so shiok!! haha.. can seat more than 6 pax definitely!! so i suggest if need to take more than 1 cab to the airport, get the minibus~

the whole trip, i regretted being so uptight abt getting everyone's stuff.. i shld have enjoyed myself thoroughly.. get my stuffs and only buy things when i pass by and saw it.. i was super stressed when i couldnt get things for dear or for my kids..=( and i hope nxt time, i can visit Chinatown!! i wanna go SAMPENG!! we didnt eat lotsa local food this time.. so i sure wanna visit NAM SING and eat their seafood!! eat auth thai food!! BKK when again?? i wanna go back soon!!
and btw, ive decided to change my maid.. my new one is coming this wednesday or thursday.. she's 43 years old!!! OLD but i hope she's hardworking enuff.. i dun mind age as long as she WORK!! i had enuff of lili and her nonsense.. shall blog abt her when im free.. for now, i need to SLEEP!!
